VISITATION

Storage Shed

AIM was approached by a very ambitious young lady, Claire Harden who wanted to work on a project for AIM. Not just any project–but  a meaningful and important project! Claire is a Girl Scout and this work with AIM would help her complete her community service project for an advanced badge. She spent a rainy afternoon with her dad building shelves in our shed for books that are used in the Storybook Program. Her dad supervised –but she did all the work!  The shelves are beautiful and an amazing addition to the shed! A BIG thanks to Claire Harden!!

Storybook Fundraiser

Zonta Club sponsored its annual Pancake Breakfast to benefit the Storybook Program on July 14th! It was a huge success! A big THANK YOU to all the Zontians who worked so hard to make this happen!

Storybook Donation

Pictured: AIM Assistant Director Larnetta Moncrief and Mrs. Valerie Powell from the Tennessee Valley Literacy Council, who brought more books for our Storybook Program. Mrs. Powell and her group plan to collect children’s books written in Spanish for mothers whose first language is Spanish–and who have asked repeatedly for these books to send to their children.

Can You See Us Now?

Thank you AIM Board Member Phill Johnson and Phil Toulette for assisting with putting up our new sign! Also thanks to Alyssa Daniels, the artist who designed our sign!  If you haven’t
seen it come on by 660 Morgan Ave!!!!

Pack-a-Purse

Thanks to two awesome organizations the Pack-a-Purse project received a much needed boost. We received two huge donations from Rushing Springs District Missionary Baptist Association and the University of Alabama for their incredibly generous gift of Purses and Hygiene products for Project Pack-a-Purse.

A Sight to See

A large group from the State Combined Campaign toured the AIM House this month!

Sponsor a Child

Here at AIM, we are working to provide school supplies for children of Alabama’s incarcerated women. Last year, we were able to help provide 200 children with uniforms and supplies. We hope to assist everyone on this program, but that depends on the financial support we receive from the community. Please consider making a contribution.A donation of $100 provides a uniform and supplies for one child. A donation of $50 provides school supplies for one child. Please contact Larnetta Moncrief at (334) 262-2245 or at larnetta@inmatemoms.org for more information.
